Alright, everyone! Welcome to the start of our 2020 season. This is going to be a long email so PLEASE read it all – it’s important everyone knows all the information.

First and foremost, registration for the 2020 soccer season is OPEN!
Times will remain the same as last season (see below). As some of you know, we had to combine groups last year in order to accommodate number of athletes but these are the tentative age categories:

U5: WED only – 5:45 – 6:30pm
U7: M/W – 5:30 – 6:45pm
U9: M/W – 5:30 – 7pm
U12: T/TH 5:30 – 7pm
U15: T/TH 7 – 8:30pm
U18: M/W – 7 – 8:30pm

Age categories are as follows:

U5 – born 2015/2016
U7 – born 2013/2014
U9 – born 2011/2012
U12 – born 2008/2009/2010
U15 – born 2005/2006/2007
U18 – born 2002/2003/2004

WE ANTICIPATE STARTING THE SEASON THE WEEK OF APRIL 20TH AND WRAPPING UP THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 20TH.

COACHING
As always, we need your help with coaching. Whether you want to coach your child’s team or want to help out with another team, this season can’t happen without volunteer coaches so please consider signing up. It’s a great time and for the younger age groups (U5 & U7), we require a parent/guardian to be on the field anyways so why not help out!
Please get in touch with me (Stef – stef.chomiak@gmail.com) or Navneet (navneetrondeau@gmail.com) – parents who coach will be reimbursed $35 in membership fees at the end of the season. You can also sign up directly on the TeamPages GMSA home page or indicate that you are interested in coaching on your players registration form.

REGISTRATIONS
Registration will be open from now until March 30, 2020 at midnight. Please note we WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING LATE REGISTRATIONS THIS YEAR. We had a lot of problems adding athletes to teams this year – make sure your kids are registered before March 30th – tell all your friends and tell them to tell all of their friends. Placing this many kids on teams is very time consuming and since we are all volunteers, we hope you can understand the deadline and our decision not to accept late registrations.
YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED A CONFIRMATION SCREEN. If you think you filled everything in but didn’t see the confirmation screen, you will need to try again. Athletes who have not been paid for will not be placed on a team so please be sure to either pay online, drop money off at the registration night, mail a cheque or drop off with Navneet at the APES office.
Please note: we are not able to register your players for you. You need to agree to the terms etc and this needs to be done by a parent/guardian.

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION NIGHT
We will be available at APES (room to be determined) for an in person registration night on MARCH, 31st, 2020 from 3:30-4:30pm. If you don’t have access to a computer at home or need help registering, please don’t miss this. You may also drop payment off with us at this time. We will be placing all registered athletes on teams after this registration window so please make sure you have completed registration.

FEES
We have increased the fees by $5 this season to cover costs for some of the paid positions we will be offering this year. Stay tuned for more details on that coming soon.

REFEREES
The older players need referees – if you are interested in ref’ing, please contact Dave Perez – david@xploregolden.com – referring will be a paid position this year so please be sure to get in touch. You can also sign up directly on the TeamPages website.

We are excited for another successful soccer season in Golden – please be sure to sign up for a volunteer or paid position – we function fully on the help of parents/caregivers so please help out where/when you can so we can continue with this amazing program.
